Born 1972 in Zürich, Switzerland. She went through vocational training to become a violinist first with her parents, and thereafter studied with Thomas Füri at the Conservatoires of Zürich and Basel/CH. In 1992 Anna Brunner received her teaching degree, and 1995 was awarded her concert diploma with distinction at the Musikakademie Basel. She is a member of the AMAR QUARTETT since it was founded in 1987. From 1989 to 1995 she was a member of the chamber music ensemble Ars Amata Zürich. Anna Brunner’s musical career has been influenced by world renowned personalities such as Isaac Stern, Walter Levin, Joseph Kalichstein, Paul Katz, Hatto Beyerle and the Alban Berg Quartet. Mother of four children, Anna Brunner lives in Thun/BE and dedicates her professional activity mainly to the AMAR QUARTETT and chamber music.
