The Master Classes are the central event of our festival. Participants will be able to work alongside world-renowned artists, witness several outstanding performances from both the faculty and rising artists, as well as showcase their progress at the end of the festival in the participants’ concert.

Each participant is entitled (and encouraged) to observe all lessons and Master Classes. Faculty members set the number and duration of lessons themselves; while some prefer shorter and more frequent lessons, others may opt for longer, more intensive classes.

Master Classes are open to pianists, violinists, cellists, flutists and pre-formed chamber music groups (piano trio, string trio, string quartet, and groups featuring wind instruments).

The Chamber Music Option, not to be confused with Master Classes for pre-formed chamber music groups, is complementary to the Master Classes for soloists and is available to participants who wish to add collaborative playing to their solo experience. Chamber music ensembles ranging from duo to quintet will be formed based on the pool of participants, considering both instrumentation and performance level.

The repertoire for each group (one or more movements or short pieces) will be chosen by the faculty and made public shortly after the application deadline, allowing ample preparation time. Each ensemble will receive three additional lessons and will be given the opportunity to perform at the closing concert.

The amount of studio space is limited. While we will continue to accept applications past the application deadline in case of under-enrollment, we advise perspective participants to apply early in order to secure a spot in our program.

A limited number of partial scholarships will be available to outstanding applicants who prepare a Scholarship Essay (300 words or less) describing the circumstances of financial need. A Youtube recording is necessary for consideration.

We advise participants (especially international guests) to arrive on June 27 and plan their return for July 8. The Slovenian coast has a lot to offer and with Italy and Croatia so close, we suggest looking into extending your stay.
